Description

School communities are at an urgent crossroads as we need to know our students' readiness levels early and often to provide targeted and relevant support; to close equity gaps and support traumatized learners, post pandemic and beyond. At the same time, immersing students in a battery of assessments is overwhelming with increasing trauma and equity gaps. Almost every teacher in today’s classrooms has used gamification tools to review for a test, reinforce concepts, or just to engage students in constructive, alluring activities in a fun context. Unknown however is how accessible and invaluable student responses within these systems can be: collecting and using data provides a wealth of information, an inventory of rich formative information that arm educators with the tools to act quickly and precisely to target student needs, especially where equity gaps or trauma exist.
